Haghpat 2 / 1999

A naked man and a woman crawl in and out of clay wine urns buried at the floor of medieval monastery of Haghpat, in northern Armenia. They crawl on the floor seeking but never reaching one another. Seems like the patient and unending quest for reaching and touching will never culminate. There is a feeling that the pleasure of the quest is more than that of reaching the end. They seem to relish the choreographed movements in and out of the dark urns as much, if not more than the union itself…
